Lily Kronberger

"Lily" Kronberger (* 12. November 1890 in Budapest; † 21. Mai 1974 ebenda) ist eine ehemalige ungarische Eiskunstläuferin jüdischen Glaubens und gewann 1908 den ersten Weltmeistertitel im Sport für Ungarn.

Bei ihren ersten beiden WM-Teilnahmen in den Jahren 1906 und 1907 erreichte sie jeweils den dritten Rang. In Troppau kürte sie sich 1908 erstmals zur Weltmeisterin und konnte den Titel bis zu ihrem Rücktritt vom aktiven Sport (wegen Heirat) im Jahr 1911 Jahr für Jahr verteidigen. Bei ihrem letzten Titelgewinn in Wien 1911 sorgte sie für eine Premiere, indem sie als erste Eiskunstläuferin überhaupt ihre Kür mit Musik unterlegte, was ihr Zoltán Kodály empfohlen hat. 1983 wurde sie in die Jewish Sport Hall Of Fame und 1997 in The World Figure Skating Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
