Die United States Naval Academy (USNA; zu dt.: „Marineakademie der Vereinigten Staaten“) ist die Offizierschule der Marine und der Marineinfanterie der Vereinigten Staaten.

Die Schule bildet die Offizieranwärter aus, bietet aber auch Lehre und Forschung auf wissenschaftlicher Grundlage und gilt als eine der renommiertesten Hochschulen des Landes. Das Institut, das vom Verteidigungsministerium finanziert wird, befindet sich auf der Nordseite der Stadt Annapolis, Maryland, an der Chesapeake Bay.

Die Einrichtung wurde am 10. Oktober 1845 vom damaligen Marineminister George Bancroft gegründet.[1] Präsident ist ein Superintendent (of the United States Naval Academy), dies ist seit dem 8. Juni 2007 Vizeadmiral Jeffrey L. Fowler aus dem USNA-Absolventenjahrgang 1974 (60. Amtsinhaber).

Nach vier Jahren Ausbildung müssen die Rekruten fünf Jahre in der US Navy oder dem US Marine Corps dienen. Maskottchen der Akademie ist Bill the Goat. Das Motto ist ex scientia tridens (lat. für „Seemacht aus dem Wissen“).

Die US Naval Academy ist das Pendant zur United States Military Academy der US Army, zur United States Air Force Academy der Luftstreitkräfte und zur Akademie der Küstenwache.

Während die akademische Ausbildung der USNA zum Bachelor-Abschluss führt, betreibt die US Navy zusätzlich zwei graduate schools, die Naval Postgraduate School und das Naval War College.
